The Pothigai hills, is an ancient monument, cherished with precious Herbs, Birds and Animals. The Pothigai hills is blessed with copper flourished river, 

Thamirabarani (Porunai) and along the bank of the river, there located a holy place, Ambasamudram which consists of 118 temples. 

 Ambasamudram also possesses world famous Kalakadu Muntandurai Tiger Reserve, Textile Industries, Eight Dams and Reservoirs and seven Rivers and Streams.

 Ambasamudram Taluk is one of the 11 taluks in Tirunelveli District, Tamilnadu, India. This taluk is famous for Agasthiar , Manimuthar and Banatheertham waterfalls, Origin of River Tamiraparani, Papanasam, Servalar and Karaiyar Dams, Western ghats, Mundanthurai Tiger sanctuary, Kallidai Appalam (Puppets) , Ambai Kadasal (wood work) ,
 Historic Alwarkurichi, Brahmadesam and Papanasam Temples , Manjolai  Tea estate.

        Papanasam Temple, it's a temple situated near agasthiyar falls, it is believed that after taking bath in this river, going to this temple is alleged to give you relief from all your sins. The place is called " Papanasam "because of this...
